Support FAQ - USA Roads For FS2004
Q: Some bridges in FS2004 do not align with the roads provided by USA Roads.
A: The bridges in FS2004 have been positioned to work with the roads included in FS2004. The FS2004 roads are generally not positioned very accurately. Because of this, the more accurate USA Roads may not align with the bridge objects.
Q: Some buildings are positioned on top of roads
A: This is true for the same reason explained in the previous question. USA Roads are very accurate, but some static objects in FS2004 appear to have been positioned relative to the roads included in FS2004. Therefore, there is a chance that some of them might be positioned on top of a road.
On the other hand, autogen works just fine with USA Roads (is not positioned on top of a road). Also, airport buildings in FS2004 are generally accurate and seem to work well with USA Roads.
Q: Some roads display over water areas, but some do not.
A: True. As mentioned earlier, the roads provided by USA Roads are positioned very accurately. Unfortunately, the water areas in FS2004 are not positioned accurately in many places. This can produce a visually undesirable effect when FS2004 water is incorrectly positioned, overlapping small sections of roads in urban areas. To compensate for this, USA Roads will be hidden beneath the water, except highways, which will still display on top of water. Many scenery designers are coming up with coastline/water enhancements for FS2004. When the coastlines are moved to a more accurate positions, the "washed-out" roads will be displayed automatically.
Q: I live by the water, but cannot find my street.
A: This may be due to the issue answered in the previous question.
Q: The streets look blurry at a distance.
A: If the streets are blurry, then the ground textures will also be blurry. There have been many articles written about blurry textures in FS2004, and ways to improve them. The best place to get help on blurry ground textures are probably Flight Simulation websites such as Avsim.com or Flightsim.com.
